Home Planning Master Plan Urban Transformations Greater Southern Waterfront Greater Southern Waterfront Greater Southern Waterfront Gateway to Future Live, Work & Play Strategyicons The Greater Southern Waterfront, which extends from Pasir Panjang to Marina East, is going to be transformed in to a new major gateway and location for urban living along Singapore’s southern coast. Development can take devote phases, starting with the former Pasir Panjang Power District, Keppel Club and Mount Faber in the next 5 to 10 years. Power-Up Pasir Panjang Ideas Competition for the Pasir Panjang Power District Integrated the 1950s and 60s, the 2 former power station buildings, along with the surrounding disused industrial structures, form the core of the Pasir Panjang Power District. Having its waterfront setting and rich industrial heritage, the district could be transformed into an exceptional destination for all to enjoy. “Power-Up Pasir Panjang”, a call for public ideas to envision future possibilities for this original site and to celebrate its distinctive heritage, was held from 30th April 2019 – 25th June 2019. Useful ideas and concepts will soon be distilled into design principles and the brief for the following usage of the energy district. An exhibition showcasing the creative submissions will soon be held at a later date. Stay tuned for more details. Along this corridor, the brand new Pasir Panjang Linear Park will connect West Coast Park to Labrador Nature Reserve, and offer park users a view of Pasir Panjang’s working container port and Power District up close. Other future connections will even link up places of interest over the waterfront to the hilltops for visitors to savor an exceptional recreational experience. improvedaccessibility_diagram View high-res image here One Faber Group is studying a brand new funicular system at Mount Faber to bring visitors from the foothills to the hilltop and cable car station by 2023. This provides easy use of Mount Faber and the remaining 10km-long Southern Ridges. pasir panjang linear park_resized Artist’s impression of future Pasir Panjang Linear Park © National Parks Board Funicular_v3 Artist’s impression of New Funicular © One Faber Group Urban Living Integrating with Nature & Water keppel club_aerial_resized The Keppel Club site will undoubtedly be redeveloped in to a new residential precinct. Future residents will enjoy convenient use of the waterfront, nature and two nearby MRT stations. Keppel Club Plan The development of the website will respond sensitively to its existing context and topography. It may also be guided by an extensive green and blue plan that may complement the nearby Berlayer Creek and Labrador Park. The neighbourhood will soon be walkable, and well attached to public transport nodes and amenities. View high-res image here.
